In 1982 Helmut Erb established the German Baroque Soloists (Südwestdeutsche Barocksolisten) consisting of high trumpet, 3 oboes, bassoon, double bass and harpsichord, which places great importance on technical ability and disciplined sense of unity. Helmut Erb re-arranges original pieces for this both unusual and charming sound formation according to Baroque tradition, which he suits to the special needs and capabilities of the seven musicians.

With the choice of famous buildings the German Baroque Soloists Helmut Erb give a suitable setting for their concerts. For example the Hambacher Schloß, the Kaisersaal in the monastery of Ottobeuren, as well as the Zedernsaal of the Fuggerschloß; in Schwabia have previously served as suitable backgrounds for their concerts.
